GRAMPIANS ‘RIDE TO REMEMBER The 4th annual GRAMPIANS ‘Ride to Remember’ will be held in the Grampians, Western Victoria on Sunday 29th January. The Ride is a green corridor event and is open to all licensed motorcycle enthusiasts, and will be conducted under police escort to maximize safety and to minimize disruption to other road users. The Ride will start from the Ararat Performing Arts Centre, Barkly St Ararat (main business precinct) at 9.30am and travel a 178km circuit that takes in the rural countryside of the Ararat Rural City municipality and to the fringes of the magnificent Grampians National Park including the townships of Maroona, Willaura, Moyston and Pomonal (morning tea), then travelling on to check out popular Lake Fyans in the Northern Grampians Shire before returning to the relaxing Alexandra Gardens in Ararat. A shorter 90km route for Antique and Classic Bikes will travel from the Ararat Performing Arts Centre precinct through Maroona, Moyston and onto Pomonal for Morning Tea, then returning back via Moyston to the Ararat outskirts where they will wait for the Main Ride to catch up and together all ride down Barkly Street to Alexander Gardens. Registration: $25 for Riders and Pillions and includes a Barbecue Luncheon Pass, Commemorative 2012 Ride Badge and complimentary bottled water following the event. The GRAMPIANS ‘Ride to Remember’ is hosted by the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation – Ararat Branch and all proceeds from the 2012 Ride will go towards a new CT Scanner for the ‘John McNally’ Medical Imaging Department at East Grampians Health Service ( Ararat Hospital).
